TikTok has launched the Creator-crediting feature.
TikTok users can now give credit to the video creators using the button in the TikTok app.
TikTok Creator Crediting Feature Launched: eAskme |
This creator-editing feature is to allow users to share the source of original information or content.
The only way to credit the original content creator in TikTok videos is by mentioning his name in comments or captions. With this latest feature, users can easily credit videos.
TikTok users can access the creator-editing feature on the video page. But you will only see it after editing or publishing a video.
You can tag videos you have liked, posted, or favored on TikTok.
TikTok also encourages users to credit original content creators by explaining the importance of crediting on TikTok.
Black creator's backlash is behind this new feature:
Tiktok users have been complaining that they are content has been hijacked without giving proper credit.
In 2021, Addison ray and Jimmy Fallon faced the biggest backlash from original content creators when they used a series of dances popular on Tiktok on their show "The Tonight Show" without giving any credit to original content creators. After that, Jimmy Fallon apologized to TikTok creators and invited 5 of them on his show.
Even after this incident, many content creators have stolen the memes and dances created by black creators.
NPR has also reported that many African American original content creators have boycotted TikTok using the hashtag BlackTikTokStirke. They have used this hashtag on tip-top and many other social media platforms.
TikTok's latest feature is now helping original content creators to get credit for what they have created. Not only that, but this new feature will also guide you to avoid copycats and plagiarism on TikTok.
How to Use TikTok Creator Crediting Tool?

- Click on the "video" icon.

Conclusion:
As bloggers or Webmasters, we understand the importance of creating original content and the negative impact of using copy content or content theft.
Content Theft is quite common on Internet, and therefore social media brands are investing so much to make sure that their users are crediting to original creators.
This will also improve the morale of the original creator.
I appreciate this new feature and want to see how other users will react and use this feature, as TikTok is not making it compulsory for you to credit every content creator.
It is on the user's will if he wants to use this new feature or not.
