How to Ace any Phone Interview with Ease?

Telephone interviews are becoming a more and more popular recruitment method, especially in our post-pandemic realities. Many companies begin the selection process with a phone interview to talk to promising candidates on paper. It is usually a brief 10–15-minute call from hiring managers to learn more about you and determine if they want to set you up for an in-person interview.

How to Ace any Phone Interview with Ease?: eAskme
How to Ace any Phone Interview with Ease?: eAskme

As a candidate, your job is to move on to the next round of interviews. Although a phone interview sounds easy enough, don't take it lightly.

Treat it like an in-person interview, do your homework and be prepared to answer any questions about your skills, experience, career path, and desire to win the job.

Read on to learn some useful tips to help you make a great impression and raise your chances to get to an in-person interview.

So, how do you get through the phone interview?

Find a quiet space:

A barking dog, a noisy co-worker, the sound of the street, or even the television are things an interviewer does NOT want to hear when calling you for a phone interview.

Background noise can seriously disrupt the interview.

Even if the interviewer can't hear it, you may be distracted, lose your trail of thought and find it difficult to concentrate.

Find a quiet space at home or at work where you are away from typical distractions such as children, pets, television, and colleagues.

It is also important to close all social networking apps and remove anything else that may distract.

Make sure your signal is fine:

Most people use mobile phones these days.

The difficulty with this is that connection problems are a possibility.

Be sure to check your phone signal beforehand.

If you have a good connection, stay in the same place for the duration of the call.

Even better: use a landline if possible.

Also, turn off your phone and social media notifications to not be interrupted during the call.

Act as if you are interviewing in person:

A phone interview is just as important as an in-person one, so treat it as such. Avoid taking it lightly or adopting a more relaxed approach.

Spend just as much time researching the company, reviewing the job, and figuring out how you would be an excellent fit for the job.

If you want the job, you have to win it over the phone first.

Find the appropriate clothes, but not the pajamas:

Even if you're at home and want to be comfortable, it's essential to be in the right frame of mind.

So ditch the pajamas and choose an outfit that helps you feel confident.

Remember, even if you're on the phone, it's still a job interview, even if you are interviewing for a minor position in a small informal startup or an essay writing service.

Prepare for the call as if you were interviewing in person.

Answer the phone yourself:

Always answer the phone yourself.

Don't let your children, partner, or other household members answer the phone for you.

You know when the call is scheduled, and be ready and available to take it.

Get to know who you are talking to:

When you receive a request for a telephone interview, be sure to find out who you will be talking to during the interview.

It is important to know this information to research the person and understand their role and the hiring process.

There is a chance you will be talking to several people, which could change your approach during the interview.

Speak slowly and clearly:

All types of job interviews can be stressful.

Your heart rate will increase, you may become nervous, and you may start talking faster than usual.

Remember to speak slowly and clearly. Keep your phone close to your mouth and avoid putting it on speakerphone.

The phone can make it difficult to hear. Be sure to communicate your thoughts with maximum efficiency.

Have your CV and job description ready:

Telephone interviews mean no visual contact, which means that you can have your job description, CV, and other materials in front of you to peak into.

If necessary, make a cheat sheet for the call.

List the essential points you want to communicate.

Have written answers to frequently asked questions. Use available resources to make the most of the call.

Have a notebook handy:

Having a notebook or pad of paper and pen handy allows you to take notes during the phone interview.

You never know what the interviewer might say that you want to remember.

Perhaps the interviewer mentioned important information about the job, made an essential point about the company, offered some advice or ideas.

Be prepared to write it down.

Show your personality:

Don't be afraid to show your personality.

A telephone interview allows you to make what you say on your CV a reality.

Be warm, engaging, and friendly, and help the interviewer understand more about you through your personality.

Ask questions:

Just as in an in-person interview, be prepared to ask questions about the job.

You don't have to get too crazy at this point.

Think of 2-3 questions you have about the job description, the role, or the company. Similar to the way you should prepare for a digital interview, you need to have a bunch of questions ready.

This will show that you are interested in the job and want to be chosen for an in-person interview.

Ask about the next steps:

This is important. No one wants to be left in the dark about when they can expect to hear from a company about a job. Ask about the next steps at the end of the call.

Depending on the company, the next step could be another phone interview or a series of in-person interviews.

Knowing what to expect next may be good for planning your next steps and securing the chances to get hired.

It will also show the interviewer that you are interested in taking the next step in the hiring process.

Follow up with a thank-you email:

After the call, send a quick follow-up email to thank the interviewer for their time and reaffirm your interest in the position.

Be brief and concise.

This will help them keep you in mind when the company selects candidates for further interviews.

Have you been scheduled for a telephone interview?

Don't take it lightly.

Treat it like an in-person interview, and you'll be well-positioned to receive a call for the next round of interviews.

Please introduce yourself?

Hi yall! I'm Katie! Wife, mom of 3, special education teacher, and blogger. I'm all about creating my very own DIY projects and helping others to save money along the way. I'm a former Diet Coke addict.

Been in recovery for 36 days now! Come join me on this crazy train I call life where I'm managing 2 full time jobs, 3 crazy kiddos, and a growing blog!

Why you have started blogging?

Blogging is something I've been thinking about doing for years. My husband and I are on our 3rd house. We renovate and DIY them on the weekends. We've learned a lot along the way while tackling this projects on our own.

Why not share our experiences with others? What a waste if I didn't.  I started the blog in the hopes of inspiring others to create their dream homes on a budget. Sharing tips and tricks and money saving ideas is so much fun for me! I also love the community a blog can build!

Who inspired you the most?

Oh man I feel like there are to many to name individually. I follow so many bloggers from DIY, and home decor all the way to coaches and business experts. They are all inspiring in their own ways. Some of their instagram feeds inspire me for decor reasons. Their lighting and photography ideas are genius. Others have great SEO and content building strategies.

I don't think most people realize everything that goes into a blog. You have to be an expert in so many different fields. Finding others who have been there and done that is a great tool fot those who are just starting out.

What tools you use to improve your blogging business?

I bought a bundle with courses to walk me through the initial startup of the blog. It was extremely helpful. I feel like it saved me hours and hours of aimless google searching trying to find the information out on my own.

Canva is one of my favorite tools at the moment. I use it daily to create pins and images for other social media platforms. Convert kit is another one of my essentials. I use it for my email list and landing pages. It is super user friendly and provides some great analytics concerning my subscribers.

Snapseed is a great free app that is useful for quick photo editing on the go. I use it often for instagram photos.

How you monetize your blog?

Monetizing your blog can be tricky. I think you have to try several different areas to find out what works for you. Ads are a contrtoversial thing. As a new blogger, ads are probably one of the first things you'll go to for monetization. The reality is, I don't think ads really pay off until you have tons of traffic to your site.

Affiliate marketing is something else I'm currently using to monetize. Try to get it with brands you know and love. I never promote a product I don't use personally. I think that's always important to remember.

In the future, I'd like to monetize through e-books and paid courses. I'm working on an e-book now along with coaching opportunity.

What are your email marketing strategies?

Email marketing can be tricky. It is so important to use a platform like convert kit to do it effectively. It is worth the money spent. The hardest part is gaining those first subscribers. Do this through creating opt-ins that you know your readers will love. Try and solve a problem they all have or address something they are all interested in.

For example you could create a PDF on 10 ways to survive summer time with your kids. Readers can grab the PDF after signing up for your email list. Then you should create an email series which tells them about yourself, leads them to your other blog posts, and eventually to a product you are selling.

It is important to develop relationships with your readers through email marketing. Trust and loyalty go a long way.

How you increase traffic for your blog?

Traffic, traffic, traffic!

How do you get it? How do you keep it? There are so many tried and true responses to that question. SEO is the major one here. Work on your SEO strategy and learn everything there is to know about it. I feel like organic traffic is the best traffic. It's the only one you have the most control over.

Pinterest has also been very kind to me in the traffic area. Using tools like tailwind help me to drive traffic from Pinterest on a daily basis. Other social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram are also useful. I'm working on venturing out to YouTube.

Which topics you find most interesting when writing a blog post.

I love to write about anything that I feel like will help or inspire my readers in a certain way. If I can help them to complete a project under budget or fall in love with a space in their home all over again I feel like I've done my job. I love to share life hacks, tips, and tricks about anything that can be beneficial.

This could be party planning, flying with children, decorating your patio, or even preparing yourself for the week ahead. Simplifying my life is so important to me. I think its a great tool to pass on to others as well.

What you do to rank your blog post?

SEO, SEO, SEO. I can't say it enough. SEO is so important. I also feel like collaboration can play a big role in ranking. Sharing your posts on social media and with others is also helpful. Providing backlinks always help too.

Promote and feature bloggers who are more popular than you. They will probably share your content and help you move up in the rankings this way.

Be a guest blogger, get interviewed by others, feature guest bloggers on your site, and interview others.

All of things will help to drive traffic to your site and increase your rankings. Time also helps. Success doesn't happen overnight.

Message for eAskme readers

Hard work pays off. Anything worth having takes time. Blogging can be time consuming and frustrating with not much payoff in the beginning. Don't give up. You can do it. Find motivation and inspiration in the little things.

Be grateful for a new day and keep on trucking. You can do this. We can do this. After all, we're all in this together.

Q : Please share about yourself and your story to enter in blogging?

Ans : I tried a lot of ways how to make money online, but nothing really worked until I got introduced to blogging and affiliate marketing. I got introduced to blogging when I was about 15 or 16 years old.

Now im 23.

Found a great site called Wealthy Affiliate and started learning from them. Created my first blog about making money online, posted reviews about courses who " taught" how you can make money online and so on.

At that time I did not even know that there is such thing as Domain Authority, that I needed backlinks and great useful content. My blog pretty much was a complete disaster because a lot of the content was duplicate content and I thought that I am the smartest on the planet because no one else is duplicating anything and I am the only one who thought about this amazing idea. But did not know that is SO BAD that it is destroying my blog.

The only thing that was good about that blog was my landing page where I created a review on Wealthy Affiliate saying that I will help you become great affiliate marketer if you join wealthy affiliate and talked about how good it was to learn to blog from that community and so on.

Started taking courses on Udemy, Google, and Inbound Marketing started working as SEO and digital marketing specialist and here I am today as a Marketing Director at ClearAid and still marketing specialist in MarketMeGood agency and I am in the creation of my own online store.

Q.  How the idea to make your own blog came in your mind? How you found the right people to develop it and what big obstacles you faced?

Ans. I had heard that some of my friends' are blogging but, saw their blogs but their blogs was not the reason why I wanted to start blogging myself.  The idea came to my head when I joined a great community of people who were blogging and making money with their blogs as an affiliate marketer. They showed me that is the best way how to show your experience and help people learn from you and share the amazing experience you have.

And at the same time, I just like to write about anything, Love to make guest posts if someone is in need of an advice

I even at that time thought that maybe I need to start my own personal blog about my life experience, about my life-changing decisions, but still haven't created it.

I still have a lot of blog ideas that I want to make and I know I will create them. One of them is traveling blog. I love to travel and probably travel blog will be the next one after my online store is up and running.

So it is now 7 years since I am in blogging and digital marketing and helping other make their sites better.
Q. Can blogging really change someone`s life?

Ans: If you create an amazing content blog, with a lot of helpful or motivational content then it can change yours and your readers' life. They will read it, get inspired, learn from you and when you have helped and taught someone you know and received feedback that you have done an amazing job by helping someone learn something, you feel more confident about yourself, you see that you can give something back with your experience.  You just see that your effort is not worthless that you mean something to someone.

So it is a win-win situation for blogging. You can change your life with big income stream from your blog by helping and teaching others by writing a blog.

Q. What are your favorite internet marketing tools?

Ans. I use a lot of tools and software that maybe someone would not call tools, but if I have to name my favorite then these are my favorite and I use them every day:
Q. What is your daily schedule? and how do you maintain your tasks?

Ans: My day mostly is spent at the office in Riga. At about 9 AM I am at the office, have a meeting with my colleagues about jobs that need to be done today and just start working. In a busy day, there can be a 10-12 hour working day.

I am using Asana to track mine and workers tasks, if something needs to be done, we add it to Asana and then everyone can see each other progress, what needs to be done and what has already been done.

Q. Blogging have different definition for different person. What is it for you?

Ans: My blogging definition would be: "Share your experience with others"
There is no point from blogging if you cannot give value to people. If your main goal from blogging is just money, then you will probably never be a successful blogger and never earn a cent from it.

Why? because your content will be based on earning money not teaching something to people. They will never spend their money on you if they see that you cannot give them value to their lives. They will never spend money on you if they see that you cannot teach them something that can help them do better in their business or on their blog.

The focus has to be on sharing your experience.

Q. Which are your favorite blogs?

Ans: My favorite blogs are mostly digital marketing and SEO related blogs like Ahrefs blog, Yoast blog and of course MarketMeGood but as I am making my own online store I have started to read some other blogs that can help me make my store better like Shopify blog. They have just amazing content about online store making.

As I mentioned traveling before one of the most important blogs where I try to find the best deals for my trips is TravelFree. This guy does an amazing job finding great hotels, comfortable flights for cheap prices.

Q. How much time do you spend on social media promotion and SEO of your blog?

Ans. Every day. It is not something you can do once and then forget about it. You need to post on your social media every day something so your readers see that you are active and have not forgotten about them.

And SEO it is just what brings you the right traffic in, right? So why stop optimizing your page why stop getting backlinks, why stop creating amazing content?

Q. How much time do you spend for blogging daily?

Ans. As we have a lot of clients that need high-quality content, blogging takes almost half of the day. Plus if we need to make the guest post somewhere and that is what we do ourselves. There are some days that are spent only blogging. We just sit all day and write blog posts for our clients or guest posts for ourselves.

Q. Message for Readers?

Ans. Don't ever stop what you have started. If you have started your blog and at one point you feel that you do not want to do this, then don't. If you blog about making money online and you feel that you should have blogged about traveling, then do it. Just create another one, but NEVER stop. Work then on both blogs.

I wish I could turn back time and start all over again. I had a lot of blogs that I just stopped writing. Probably they would be one of the most popular SEO and online money making blogs.

Q. What do you like about eAskme and how it can be more helpful for readers?

Ans. eAskme has amazing reviews on SEO and marketing tools, that if someone has doubts about something they should go to eAskme, find the review and read it. There are a lot of great tutorials about social media, making money online, blogging.

It is a great blog for an experienced and at the same time for beginner bloggers.

Q : Please share about yourself and your story to enter in blogging?

Ans : Here's the scoop:

My name is Nikola Roza and I'm from a small European country called Serbia, (Novak Djokovic is also from Serbia).

I work as a freelance SEO writer and I've built a career out of it, but it wasn't always like that, on no...
I never intended to be a blogger and earn my living through writing.

No, I wanted to be a student of English literature and one day teach wonderful English language.

However, when I was in my third year of studying my mother got terribly sick and I returned home to take care of her. But she was past all hope and soon passed away.

And I was left:
  • Broke,
  • Jobless
  • Without my degree
Unwilling to be poor and miserable my whole life- I turned to the internet. I heard whispers you can earn money online and was willing to do it myself.

The only problem?

I really had no clue how to do it.

So I diged deep and what I found was very interesting... and very overwhelming. I fell for scams. Lots of them. And it left me bitter to the world of making money online.

I guess back then I didn't realize that earning online is real work and that I need real skills to do it.

Or perhaps I was being lazy and looking for silver bullets?

Finally,  completely broke, I turned to SEO as a FREE way to get traffic.

And that's how I got stated online. It's a bittersweet story that has a happy conclusion so far...

But I'm not done yet:)

Q.  How the idea to make your own blog came in your mind? How you found the right people to develop it and what big obstacles you faced?

Ans. Well, besides the English language, my other passion was writing. So I thought I would unite what I like doing and what can earn me a living.

And I was right. Because now I write and enjoy writing. But what I like even more is when I get paid for my words.

How I found the right people to help me?

All those scams left me jaded but not completely (lucky me). Basically, I found a training platform for affiliate marketing called "Wealthy Affiliate". I obviously won't promote them here, but, long story short, they taught me how to write for the web and how to market myself.

The knowledge they gave me can be found online for free, but I'm still happy I found them because they gave me a streamlined course to follow. That is why every day I worked on it I felt as I was advancing step by step, one foot forward at a time, and that feeling kept me going at times when I just wanted to give up.

The biggest obstacle I faced?
It was not having English as my native language.

I knew I could write well, but also that I could be much much better. So I devised a strategy.

Here it is:

"No, I will not start my blog until 6 months have passed.

And in those 6 months I will:
  • Write 4000 words on whatever topic I want
  • Read 100 pages of any book
  • Read 5 blog post about SEO and internet marketing".
If this sounds like it wasn't easy to do- it wasn't;

But so worth it:)

Q. Can blogging really change someone`s life?

Ans: Can blogging really change someone`s life?

Yes it can.

But only if that they can change internally.

I'll explain:
Blogging is extremely hard at first, but when you master it, it becomes really easy.

Because people get into it with the expectation that they can whip up some posts, rank for some keywords and make money in a month.

Of course, that's not how it works. There's a tremendously steep learning curve at the beginning:
  • How to write for the web,
  • How to format,
  • What images are best,
  • Copywriting,
  • SEO.
These are all the things you must know to really become successful and it takes time to learn them.
That is why most people fall at blogging.

The good news is that if you accept that you must learn and grow- you can do it.

You don't have to be a genius to succeed. You just have to work hard and be patient.

And the funny thing is, that after you've accepted that it's going to take a long time to earn money, what usually happens is that money comes much sooner than expected.

So keep at it:)

Q. What are your favorite internet marketing tools?

Ans. Ahrefs
This is a backlink checker tool. It's a paid tool but worth every cent, as backlinks are "the needle movers" in our blogging industry.

Ahrefs also has excellent keyword research function with a nifty content gap tool. It tells you what your competition is ranking for, but you're not. So you know you need to cover that in more detail.

SEMrush.
Great for keyword research. Especially helpful because it can show me all the keywords my competition is already ranking for.

Once I have that data, I take one juicy keyword that my competitor has gobbled up because of their high DA (Domain Authority), and I write a better article around that keyword.

Then I know I can "steal" that keyword because I'm intentionally targeting it. And it doesn't matter that my DA is lower.

LSI  graph tool (free tool)
LSI stands for latent semantic indexing. This basically means synonyms and related terms. I like to sprinkle those in as they really make a difference in the SERPs. And they make my content more readable, which is always nice to have.

Q. What is your daily schedule? and how do you maintain your tasks?

Ans: I follow the Ivy Lee method of work management. And I combine it with "the one thing" principle.

I like this approach because it's simple. And effective.

So, every day before sleep I make a list of six things I want to do tomorrow. And I select one that I have to do, no matter what. Then when I wake up I get right on it.

After that's finished I turn to the other five and do whatever I can. Sometimes it's all six but this is rare. Most of the time it's three or four.

It doesn't matter as long as I got my "one thing" done for the day.

This moves my business forward and I go to sleep exhausted but happy.

Q. Blogging have different definition for different person. What is it for you?

Ans: A way to express me.

I believe that we all have some way to creatively express who we are, and blogging is that for me.
And because I am such a great match for the call of blogging, I can make a great living doing it.
Here's a tip for your readers.

How to creatively express yourself and still earn for a good life?
  • Find what you really like to do, what you'd do even for free, because you love it so much.
  • Then master the art of doing what you love (like I bucked down and learned SEO).
  • Then find a way to sell your services.
If you can do that, you will transform your life for the better.

And your life is worth it.

Do you agree?

Q. Which are your favorite blogs?

Ans: I like to divide my marketing learning into three categories:
  • General knowledge
  • Exceptional stuff,
  • Out of the box thinking
And as such I have three favorite blogs:
I find that knowing a lot can be both a blessing and a curse. There's infinite knowledge to be had in any niche and my advice to readers is:

limit yourself to just three blogs, learn by reading, but even more importantly- learn by doing.

Q. How much time do you spend on social media promotion and SEO of your blog?

Ans. Socia media
I used to think that social media is a huge waste of time. I don't anymore.

But I also don't think it's a way to get sustained readership. Because people who come from social channels are less targeted and much harder to convert. Still, social media is a nice add-on to SEO.

As for what channel is the best?
This obviously depends on the niche, but I recommend Pinterest.

Because Pinterest is a blend of social media and search engine, and those pins last forever. That means that image you pin today can bring you traffic ten years from now (the only rule is that your post must be evergreen)

Promotion
I promote my articles on Reddit and StumbleUpon.

Reddit because it's such a vibrant community that can send hundreds of visitors literaly in the frst hour after the post is live.

StumbleUpon because it's so easy and there's always a chance the post will go viral.

Note- be careful on Reddit when you self-promote. It's not forbidden, but you must be strategic.
Become a valuable memeber of subreddits and promote only your best stuff.

SEO
I spend the bulk of my time on SEO. Why?

Because it works!
Yes, it takes time to kick in, but when it does, you can tell (hint: you're swarmed with new visitors).
Also, truly excellent on-page SEO makes your life easier because you need to do less link building to rank.

Q. How much time do you spend for blogging daily?

Ans. How much time do you spend on blogging daily?

It depends on the day and my other commitments. But in general, I try to spend as much time as possible. Because of two simple reasons:

1.  I truly enjoy blogging. It does not feel like work at all, but as pleasure. So you could say that I have fun all the time:) But I also get stuff has done- which is crucial.

2.  I'm at that stage of my business when it needs the most of my time and energy. I believe in success coming quicker rather than slower, but it totally depends on me.

I must nurture my business now, so it bears fruit later.

Q. Message for Readers?

Ans. Don't stop.
Do know that most people will (give up).

The simple truth to blogging is this:
like in anything in life- only the most stubborn succeed.

Those who refuse to give up; Those who're stupidly stubborn; Those who will fail fifty times for the off chance they make it on their fifty-first.

Those are the success store you've heard of, they are the folk's who's blogs you read every day.

Learn from them.

Here's a tip to help you:
When you get tired and feel like it's best to just throw in the towel-STOP thinking, get up and take a walk.

Seriously that's it.

The walk and fresh air will allow you to escape from your dark thoughts. It'll relax you, and by the time you get back, you'll feel different and better about yourself.

When you get tired- rest. Don't quit.

Don't tell.
You'll encounter resistance if you tell people you're trying to earn by blogging online.

Because there're two types of people:
  • Those who love you and want you to stop being crazy and get a regular job (but they're wrong- you should pursue your dream)
  • Those who are afraid you'll succeed.
Don't tell. Remove the unnecessary friction.

Blogging is hard enough, don't make it harder.

Q. What do you like about eAskme and how it can be more helpful for readers?

Ans.I like the content.

It's thorough and helpful, without being too long. I hate articles that have nuggets of wisdom within a small tonne of fluff.

And Easkme doesn't make that mistake.

How it can be more helpful for readers?
Perhaps you could do a poll where you ask people what their biggest problem in SEO is.

Then when you have the answer (for example link building), you make a contest for guest bloggers, where they have to submit their best article on the topic. And whoever wins gets a chance to write a series of articles on link building.

It's a win-win-win scenario because:
Because Easkme is the brand that understands their troubles, and wants to help.

Q : Please share about yourself and your story to enter in blogging?

Ans :  I started blogging for The Odee Company which was a printing company I owned for 24 years. I got into blogging as a way to drive traffic to the site. I grew that business from $1 million to $10 million in sales by the time I sold it. I retired to Montana and grew bored in 6 months. Started teaching marketing at Montana State University. Helped my wife start an interior design business in Big Sky, MT and grew it from 0 to $2 million in sales this year through blogging and other marketing. I have just taken a Partnership in a Farm and Ranch Real Estate brokerage firm. My job was to launch the website(Venture West Ranches) and get it ranking. It went live in September and we are well on our way to first page status. I have been hired to take it from a small Montana Ranch Brokerage to a mid tier Regional Farm and Ranch brokerage firm. I hold a BBA from Texas Tech University and an MBA Southern Methodist University. I have found blogging to be a very good way to build traffic and brand for a business. Between keyword research, linking and blogging a website can become a very powerful tool in building a business and creating wealth.

Q.  How the idea to make your own blog came in your mind? How you found the right people to develop it and what big obstacles you faced?

Ans. I started reading about internet marketing and keywords before it was really cool. My printing business needed a bigger presence in a very large regional market(Dallas). I was able to start and build the blog to where it had several thousand daily visitors and I became an authority in answering printing questions on the net.

The blog was done myself. At that time, you could rank with short blog posts and I would do @ 3/week around printing information. Very few blogs used pictures at that point but I would link to Youtube videos showing howtos and explaining the printing processes. Some of my printing videos are still up and have tens of thousands of views.

Time was a major obstacle considering I had 50 employees and was still churning out 3 blog posts a week. It helped that they were short posts but I had to be very efficient. I would spend Fridays after most of my employees left, brainstorming ideas. After the brainstorming, I would target having rough drafts over the weekend that I would edit and publish through the week. There were many doubts early on, on what I was doing and whether it would pay off.

Q. Can blogging really change someone`s life?

Ans: I tell my students that there is no time in the history of the world that someone can compete with multinational corporations and large marketing budgets like today. The internet and blogging has leveled the playing field for marketing to niche markets profitably for anyone that is willing to put in the work and effort to learn the SEO business.

Blogging was a big part of allowing me to retire at 48. It gave me customers that I would have never met in markets that I never even knew existed or were in their infancy and growing fast. Blogging is a wealth building tool. It is not overnight but if you are willing to work it can change your business and your life.

Q. What are your favorite internet marketing tools?

Ans. I love Long Tail Pro's keyword research. I have been using it for @ 1 year and it has paid for itself many times over. I also like Open Link Profiler. It is a very good all around tool to help you build links, pick keywords and see how competitors are ranking

Q. What is your daily schedule? and how do you maintain your tasks?

Ans: I get up early and get into the office a couple of hours before anyone else. I allow myself one day to come up with blog post ideas. The other 5-6 days then go into research, picture acquisition, writing, editing and posting. I usually will pick one day for link building. Once people show up in the office I do my normal day job of finding farms and ranches for clients.

Q. Blogging have different definition for different person. What is it for you?

Ans:Blogging is finding interesting content that is related around your keywords and sites. For instance, I am writing a series about Montana wildlife that are found on ranches here in our very wild state. I have enjoyed it and it brings real interesting stories to readers of my blog. That eventually leads to traffic and notoriety for my site and customers to Venture West Ranches. This allows us to spread into other states and give more people pportunities to change their lives and their clients lives. All of this above starts with the blog. The right choice of keywords and putting ideas out there that you think might be interesting to someone. That to me is blogging.

Q. Which are your favorite blogs?

Ans: I like Hi Sugarplum just because I know the story behind the woman and she went from being laid off to having a very successful career blogging. I like Peak Prosperity because I think like him and respect his opinion and what he is trying to do and I have about 10 SEO blogs I subscribe to which if I had to pick one it would be webris. I enjoy all of the blogs just due to new angles on the art of SEO.

Q. How much time do you spend on social media promotion and SEO of your blog?

Ans. I spend about 5 hours a week on Social Media. Yes not enough but still kind of getting rolling on that. Considering the number of jobs I have at the moment I deemed SEO of the blog and webpage to be the chicken before the egg, so to speak. I spend @ 15-20 hours on the SEO.

Q. How much time do you spend for blogging daily?

Ans. As we discussed before I have my day of planning the week's blog posts. I then do research fro the articles and then the writing of the posts. Overall, I spend about three hours per day on average approximately six days a week. My goal is to get three blog posts done every week.

Q. Message for Readers?

Ans. As I tell my students there has bnever been a time in the history of the world where a David can take on a Goliath and win. It takes effort, determination and countless hours learning how to blog, SEO and link build but it can change your life and your business. I have done it three times now.

Q. What do you like about eAskme and how it can be more helpful for readers?

Ans. I like the different topics and angles you take. There is always fresh content with fresh stories that are interesting. I don't read any of the posts that I don't walk away with something new to try, new angle or new insight and many times it is a reminder of something that I have forgotten or maybe got lazy on.

1. Use Applicant Tracking Software

You probably use electronic employment applications already. Why not upgrade to a comprehensive applicant tracking system with dashboard-based reporting and workflow management capabilities? These systems make it much easier to screen out candidates that that don't meet minimum requirements for the position, such as years of relevant experience or educational attainment.

“Using technology to standardize your applicant screening processes saves your team a lot of time,” says George Otte, Miami-based entrepreneur and chairman of Otte Polo Group. “In turn, that frees up resources for vetting and interviewing promising candidates.”

2. Check Candidates’ Social Media Profiles for Red Flags

Candidates’ social media profiles say a lot about their opinions, priorities, personal routines, and work ethic. You’d be remiss not to check them for potential red flags, for example, maturity or emotional intelligence. You can also use social media to find high-potential candidates outside the traditional job board environment, says Shanil Kalderali of Pierpoint International.

3. Use Pre-Screening Phone Interviews for Borderline Candidates

Once you’ve screened out unsuitable candidates and used social media research to further winnow your pool, pre-screen remaining candidates via quick phone interviews. These interviews are great for catching borderline candidates who just narrowly slipped through in the early going. The phone interview is also an important first step in determining candidate fit, though it’s probably risky to make firm conclusions on the basis of a single call.

4. Verify Candidate Statements and CVs

Before bringing candidates in for an in-person review, look into every verifiable statement they’ve made in their cover letters, CVs, and applications. This means calling past employers, alma maters, and personal references. If anything seems amiss — even a relatively innocuous point, such as an inaccurate start date — you’ll want to proceed with caution.

5. Assign Pre-Interview Homework

Pre-interview homework is a great tool for honestly assess candidates’ strategic thinking abilities — and for determining just how far a candidate is willing to go to land the job. The best homework assignments are miniature exercises that mirror projects or decision points candidates would likely face on the job. Structure them such that candidates must provide a window into their thinking during and after the exercise. If they make it to the interview, take the opportunity to debrief: ask them why they did what they did, when.

By using these screening tips, you’re better positioned to make smarter hiring decisions and save your HR team time in the process.

Q : Please share about yourself and your story to enter in blogging?

Ans : I have always been passionate about reading and writing. When I was a child, I wished to become a librarian. Growing up I used to think that if I learn a lot in school and get good grades, I will have a safe financial future. After I had finished college, I realized this was simply not true.

In Romania, often, employers refuse to hire beginners because they lack experience, so you first have to go through several low paid jobs, until you can find a decent job. Then you take a loan from the bank to buy an apartment, and agree you will have to pay for the next 30 years until you retire.

I didn't think I would be happy in this scenario, so I chose something different for my life. I decided that I wanted to become a blogger and earn money from home using the internet.

This is how I came to start my blog, MinucaElena, in December 2015. One of the things that particularly attracted me about blogging is that this opportunity is available for everyone. It requires no special studies, nor big investments, just a willingness to learn.

I bought my domain name and then paid about $30 for an entire year of hosting for my site. I've never looked back since!

Q.  How the idea to make your own blog came in your mind? How you found the right people to develop it and what big obstacles you faced?

Ans.  When I decided to start my site, I knew that people could earn money online but I did not know exactly how they did it. I used to believe that bloggers need to spend at least a couple of years until they can get a decent income.

So, my plan was from the beginning to work as a freelancer and make blog posts for accomplished bloggers. The problem was that I didn't know about the basis of blogging, I didn't quite get the bigger picture.

Luckily, I found a blogging coach, Sue Anne Dunlevie from Successful Blogging, who is absolutely great to work with. I started one of her courses, and I learned about all the income streams a blogger can have and how to achieve my goals.

I now create influencer roundups that provide quality content and bring huge traffic. I also help bloggers connect with influencers.

A roundup is a type of post in which experts from a certain niche (can be anything between 10 or 100 bloggers) answer one highly significant question.

Think of it as a group interview. My job is to identify the experts and reach out to them to invite them to participate. In the end, I put all the responses together into a blog post, making sure everything flows well.

My clients get a lot of traffic thanks to my roundups because all the contributors to the post share it with their followers and often link to it on their blog. As a general rule of thumb, the more experts I feature, the more traffic the roundup tends to generate.
Q. Can blogging really change someone`s life?

Ans: I think that this depends on the person. Many people start a blog as a hobby, and work on it in their spare time, so it takes them years to build a career out of it.

For me, blogging has changed my life for the better. I was determined from the beginning that I wanted to build an online business. I firmly believe in the power of positive thinking, and working tirelessly towards achieving my set goals.

Now, my online activity is my only income source.

I can afford a comfortable lifestyle and am able to travel as I please. I like that I can organize my time the way I want. I don't need to ask permission from a boss to go on a holiday.

I am my own boss. I feel that my brand can only expand as I make a point to go above and beyond for my clients to smash their expectations.

Q.  What are your favorite Internet marketing tools?

Ans: I use Canva to make the collages for my expert roundup. It's a free tool that has lots of features that you can use to make customized images for social media and blog posts, infographics, design your logo, etc.

I use Buffer to schedule my posts for social media, especially Twitter. I post on a regular basis the interviews and roundups where I am featured. I also like to share useful content on blogging related topics.

Q. What is your daily schedule? And how do you maintain your tasks?

Ans: I wake up at around 8 am. I am more productive in the morning when I'm rested, and have a lot of energy. I like to feel comfortable while working, so that is why I often stay in bed with my laptop in my lap. :D

A few of my daily tasks are:

- making various lists

- sending lots of emails

- interacting with other bloggers on social media

- editing my posts and promoting them.

Q Blogging have different definition for different person. What is it for you?

Ans : For me, blogging is the best opportunity for a regular person to build his or her business without big investments or special skills. In the internet marketing world, it doesn't matter what age, religion or nationality you have. You can become a successful entrepreneur provided you work hard and never stop learning and growing.

Blogging is a business and also a way of expressing your creativity. Lots of online writers become published authors. Building an audience and getting their feedback can give you the confidence you need to take action towards seeing your book in a library.

For me, blogging is also a wonderful way of meeting new people from different cultures. Through my online endeavors, I now have friends all over the world.

Q. Which are your favorite blogs?

Ans: I read lots of blogs where I can learn how to become a better blogger. My favorite is Pro Blogger. I especially like to listen to Darren Rowse's podcast.

I also like Smart Blogger. Jon Morrow is a great writer. Another blog that I read all the time is Successful Blogging. It teaches how to get more traffic and how to convert subscribers into paying clients and make more sales.

Q. How much time do you spend on social media promotion and SEO of your blog?

Ans. I do not spend a lot of time on SEO. I create my content to help my readers, not to trick Google. So, I do only on-page optimization. I promote my blog anytime it is relevant, on Facebook groups and Twitter. I haven't measured exactly how much time it takes me daily.

Q. How much time do you spend for blogging daily?

Ans. The time that I spend blogging depends on how many projects I have. I usually work about 6 hours a day during the week, and 3- 4 hours a day on the weekends.

I guess one of my biggest challenges is organizing my time and eliminating distractions. I spend more time on Facebook than I should, but at the same time, this helps me build connections with other bloggers and promote my expert roundups, so I don't consider networking wasting time.

Q. Message for Readers?

Ans. Blog about a topic that you love and are passionate about. Find your targeted audience on Facebook groups and other communities on social media. Find out what their biggest challenges are, and address those issues in your posts. Write unique content that will offer a new perspective even on an old problem.

Interact with your readers by answering the comments they leave on your blog and always remember that you were a beginner not long ago, so be understanding.

Q. What do you like about eAskme and how it can be more helpful for readers?

Ans. I love your blog because it offers great content on a variety of topics. I like reading your interviews with different bloggers, and I always feel inspired by them. The site has a pretty design and it is easy to navigate between all the categories that you have on your blog.
