Providing your HR department with tools like applicant tracking systems can help you greatly in the future.

These systems allow users to filter through hundreds of applicants to find qualities and qualifications they are looking for.

If you are interested in applicant tracking systems and what they can do for your business, you can find out more about Applicant Tracking Systems here.

Below are some of the ways marketing and human resources departments can work together to encourage business growth and success.

Creating an Employee Value Proposition

Most business marketing teams are familiar with creating a value proposition to offer to consumers. In short, a value proposition states how a business is different from their competition and what they can offer a consumer.

Using this same structure to create an employee value proposition is a great idea.

Pairing your marketing team with key members of the human resources department is essential when trying to come up with an employee value proposition.

The HR department can relay information about what employees are looking for to the marketing team.

Informing potential employees about what benefits await them should they get hired by your company can help greatly when it comes to attracting top talent.

Involve Customers in the Employee Onboarding Process

The main goal of a business owner should be finding a way to better serve their customers.

One of the best ways to do this is by investing time and resources into the employee training process.

Building a successful brand will require you to get everyone in your company onboard.

Most human resource departments are always looking for new and exciting ways to train employees.

With the help of your marketing team, you can gather information about how customers are interfacing with your brand.

Getting feedback on social media is also a great way to see where short-comings are and what needs to be done to fix them.

Once you have this information, you can use it to train new employees.

Teaching your new team members how to handle interactions with your customers will serve you well in the future.

Focusing your efforts in improving customer service will increase sales and retention numbers.

Make Social Media Marketing a Team Effort

A key component of attracting new consumers and generating sales leads is utilizing the power of social media.

Some business owners make the mistake of trying to handle social media interactions on their own.

The best way to make the most out of social media is by involving your entire team.

Allowing employees to post about their positive experience with your business on their social media page can be extremely powerful.

You should also think about allowing your team to interact with consumers who post messages or questions to the company social media page.

Creating a Successful Brand is Hard Work

Building your employer brand is a complex and time-consuming process.

This is why you need to enlist the help of your marketing and human resource department.

By doing this, you can avoid getting overwhelmed during the brand building process.

The Importance of Mobile Users to Small Businesses

As you are putting together your online marketing, it is important to not forget about a growing segment of online users: mobile users. With the rise in popularity of smartphones, more people are now accessing the internet through a device rather than a computer. There are some issues that come up, though, with using a device over a computer. These issues need to be in the forefront of your mind as you work on your online presence.

Who Are Mobile Users?

Mobile users make up a large portion of people using the internet. They are younger users. They are people who are on the go and busy, such as middle-aged parents with children. They are business professionals. As you can see, this group is diverse.

The chances are very good that at least some portion of your target market is mobile users. So, you need to make sure you are reaching them and making it easy for them to use your website. If you fail to do this, you may be missing out on potential earnings.

Why Does Mobile Present an Issue?

Mobile devices are smaller and have different usability than computers. This presents problems when mobile users access websites designed for computer users. A website built to basic computer configurations may be difficult to navigate on a mobile device because of the limited screen space. In addition, clicking on links or other items with a finger is not as precise as using a mouse, which creates further issues.

How Are the Problems Solved?

In the early days of trying to reach mobile users, many companies created two websites: one for computer users and one for mobile users. This, obviously, was a hassle because it meant maintaining two websites. If you made a change, you had to do it twice.

Luckily, there is now the option to create a website that adjusts to the user. You only need one website because it will detect on its own whether the user is on a computer or on a mobile device and adjust accordingly. Most website builder options include this in your website creation.

How Do Mobile Sites Look?

Mobile-targeted websites feature screens sizes that adjust to fit the small mobile screen sizes. This allows the user to see the whole website without having to scroll left or right. It basically shrinks it down and reorganizes to allow for easier viewing.

Mobile sites also tend to be less detailed than the computer sites. This allows for easier clicking on links and other items. It also makes it fit better on the mobile screen. In addition, because mobile devices may not run as fast as a computer or have as good internet service, mobile sites are kept simpler to load quickly and prevent crashes or issues with freezing up.

How Are Mobile Sites Beneficial?

Every business should have a website that works for mobile users. They are a nice sized market segment now, and they are only growing. If you fail to cater to mobile users, then you are going to lose out on reaching all these people. It could have a serious effect on your bottom line.

By having a mobile site, you are ensuring that everyone who visits your website can get information and easily use your site. People expect this. They don’t want to have to try to navigate a site that is confusing or difficult to use. There are too many other options out there, so they will simply leave if they see your site isn't catering to mobile users.

When it comes to creating your small business website, you have to think about how people are accessing the internet. If you forget about mobile users, you will see the effects. Making sure your website works for any user regardless of what device they are using can help you to maintain your hold on the market.

Taming Online Marketing Cost-Effectively

You Have Tools, Why Not Use Them?

SEO, SMO, and PPC—what do they all have in common? They’re cost-effective ways you can make your business competitive on the internet. Additionally, the kind of business you have will recommend one kind of online marketing, or the other.

The three abbreviations above stand for Search Engine Optimization, Social Media Optimization, and Pay Per Click solutions. Now in a “meta” sense, SEO really covers all three; but each has a specific concentration which slightly differs.

As an example, if you’re going to have successful SEO, that means having a social media presence to some degree. There is a very large market there, and this market must be tapped into for the fullest effect. The greater your SMO, the more top-tier your SEO results will be. PPC can also help, but is its own separate entity.

Here’s the thing: with each of these three concentrated online marketing solutions, there are idiosyncrasies which must be tapped into for ultimate effectiveness. With SEO, the subject matter you center on, the size of your writing, visual elements, getting the right keywords, and many other tiny details all contribute to increasing your visibility.

Some Of The Thinking Behind Modern Online Marketing

One reason these things increase visibility is because they make it so your page, business, or whatever internet presence you’ve designed is easier for search engine logarithms to find. Search engines are always modifying their logarithms because people are people, and tend to abuse tools they have available to them.

As a result, if you want to get the greatest success from your online marketing endeavors, it is very recommendable to use a professional agency who has made it their business to remain continually aware of market transitions.

With all these things in mind, the next thing to consider is that outside the internet, you will definitely lose a substantial quotient of your market. You must use the internet. According to BrownBoxBranding.com, a Seattle web design firm, “Having a mobile optimized website is not only important, today’s users demand it.”

Mobile Dominance

The reason today’s users demand it is because so much of our daily lives are dominated by mobile devices. Smartphones, tablets, laptops, and IoT (the Internet of Things) are all integral components of modern society. At any given time, people today seem to have access to these things.

There is even some speculation that the average attention span has plummeted because of new technology like smartphones. They’re just too convenient. You don’t need a book anymore to pass the time. You don’t need to have conversation. You don’t even need to watch television—just bring up the web and look for something you like.

Well, SEO, SMO, and PPC organically target people that have some semblance of affinity for your products or services. Those who are most likely to buy from you will get your information in front of them. Instead of having it forced on them, it shows up when they conduct a search because the techniques outlined above have facilitated this.

Getting Your Feet Under You

If you haven’t considered online marketing techniques, you are losing money, pure and simple. The internet is increasing in its affluence, not decreasing. To trim the fat from operations, you need to take every little thing into account. How long you sleep, how energetic your employees are, their environment, burgeoning technologies—all of it.

The more efficient your business, the more likely you are to have profitability increase operational success. One last thing to consider: your competition—if there is any for your business—will very likely be using modern online marketing techniques. Putting the Customer First Is the Key to a Successful Mobile Marketing Campaign

Customers are the lifeblood of any business, which is why they must be the lifeblood of any mobile marketing campaign.

Putting the customer first will pay dividends for your business in the immediate term and the long-term alike, enhancing your brand image and driving sales.

Some of the world's most successful companies grew their success precisely because their business philosophy focused on putting people above profit.

Here are a few tips to keep in mind when developing a customer-focused mobile marketing campaign.

Have a Customer-First Business Mindset:

Above all else, businesses must implement a new mindset to appeal to customers.

Instead of first and foremost about business needs, the company should focus on the customer.

This mindset should be implemented before a mobile marketing campaign begins since successful businesses must have a target audience.

That way, the mobile marketing campaign will simply reflect the business's mindset organically.

The Golden Rule of Mobile Marketing Campaigns:

Everyone is familiar with the notion of doing unto others as you would have done unto yourself.

This "Golden Rule" certainly applies in a mobile marketing campaign.

If a marketing tactic bothers you, it is best to exclude it from your mobile marketing campaign.

That means your campaign should avoid incessant texting that borders on nagging and privacy infringement.

Instead, tailor and hone your mobile marketing campaign to send valuable text messages that will be valued by prospective customers instead of ignored.

To achieve this, start by conducting a mobile marketing campaign based on customer permission.

For example, ask customers whether they want to receive SMS updates or texts before sending one.

This way, your marketing will be accepted by customers in a literal sense, which will help customers be more receptive to your ads and marketing offers.

The timing of your mobile marketing is equally important.

For example, sending text messages later in the day can be an intrusive and annoying marketing practice when customers are trying to enjoy family time.

Similarly, sending messages too early can wake up a customer, causing them to be annoyed or frustrated with your brand's marketing.

Gather Data and Talk to Customers for Marketing Insight:

Your mobile marketing campaigns should always be refined and honed by the data collected on the campaign's effectiveness.

Beyond the pure analytics and data-driven numbers, customers are also a great resource for improving your campaigns in a customer-focused way.

After all, who can better help a customer-focused marketing campaign than the customers themselves?

Businesses can tap into a gold mine of customer-focused marketing advice by gathering customer feedback and listening carefully.

Maintain a Clear Message:

Finally, businesses need to retain a clear message that will speak directly to the customer's needs and desires.

Customers do not have time to wade through a bunch of business-speak and marketing filler, which is why your message to customers must be brief, direct, and clear.

Demonstrate the value of your brand and your marketing offers, and make it clear how customers can take advantage of these offers.

To do this, focus on creating a very specific call to action that makes it easy for customers to act.

This way, your marketing will make it easier for customers to buy your products, which is exactly what your mobile campaign and customers both want and need.

Ultimately, a customer-first campaign is about respecting your customers, which paves the path for long-term business and mobile marketing success.

This news also tells that video and image search rankings will not be impacted, but I am waiting for a confirmation.
